My wife has insisted for years that you can 'train' a battery in order to optimize its performance and lifetime. For example, with a cell phone battery, she says it is best to let the battery run out almost completely before recharging it. (as opposed to plugging it into the charger whenever not using it, which is what I do). Bullfeathers, I say. Sounds like an urban legend.

I've tried searching the web, including snopes, but can't find any info on it.
Can any one help? Question

She must define the type of battery to be true. Some battery do have a memory per say use them heavily then they would like to be used heavily. BUT with new batteries that is no longer true. Now the cycling of batteries is inportant for long lasting. The more you cycle them the less are they to last. Heat is involved with life of the battery overcharging is also involved. So she is right and wrong without definition. take care.
