Hello, I am installing 3 wirless pir detctors at my property that when triggerd will emit a radio signal to a mains addaptor that in turn emits a audio tone and can swich on a lamp or other electrical devise when the pirs are triggerd, my question is what type of relay connected to the mains addaptor would activate a gsm mobile phone to ring me when pirs detect movement, what relay would be best for this instalation and how would it be wired to mains addaptor and gsm mobile phone thanks for help and info.

there are relays and thers are contactor. Perform the same functions the only difference is size. I have no idea of the power involved in your project. 120v 240v main is source of power to use relay the contacts must be rated for voltage and current. that is what contactor comes in. for hi power of switching a contactor is a must. breaking 240v at 50amps air ionize causing early teminal failure. contactors will travel distance to break the circuit. now you know the basic which to use it is up to you and power type and amount.
