For a room (area 7 x 5m) of height 3.3m, what height should PIR sensors
be installed? Is it the same for dual-techs?

Normally it says on the leaflet accompanying the
detector.

You can't go far wrong with 2.4m pirs or dts.

I'd fit them wherever is neatest (wiring wise)
They're not suddenly not going to work if they're
mounted a little higher.

That said, check that leaflet first :)

You can install them at ceiling height, and you won't have a problem, Don't install them above any heat source ie Radiators, and if you have a coal fire don't let the PIR have full view of it if you wish to avoid false alarms,
Don't run cables more than two meters in parallel with mains cables.
If you need any more advice on alarms give me a shout I spent 15 years in the trade.
