I need to keep 110V AC from back flowing but the only thing i can think of is a diode but that is only good for DC. is there something that works for AC that acts like a diode?
thanks jeff

I have no idea of what backflowing means to you. Current flow only one way whether it is AC OR DC. TO MOVE THE 120 AC LINE BACKWARD YOU MUST HAVE A VERY BIG GENERATION. i DON'T THINK this is the case otherwise you will never have to ask a question like this. in the grid you may have 1000 and 1000 of generation plants tied together and that get transmitted at 500kv until distribution give you the 120vac . yes you can sell generation solar turbine whatever to the source. but not at the 120vac level not unless the power company agrees to the purchases of megawatts not 10 watt. the cost to inplementing the monitoring makes impossible to for me to understanding your concerne. look at current as water level it will flow allways down hill. your toaster is a load a generator is a source. toaster down hill generator up hill.
