I have a Mitsubishi VS-50705 its well kept, but just the other day it started shutting off by itself. It used to go back on later, but not anymore. I heard about holding in the menu and input button to get the led light readings which I did. I am getting a 21 which I was told is a X-ray protect circuit. If anyone knows what the hell that means please help.

Thank you.

It is a 50 inch big screen Mitsubishi VS-50705. When you hit the power button it just shuts off real quick. It seems like the timer is doing it.

Well now we are getting somewhere. Question no:#1 is it a plasma or LCD tv or projection. it does make difference. xray protect usualy is because the hi voltage has reached an unsafe value and shut down. Now here is the thing it might not be the hi voltage at all but lower voltage power supply failure which in turn makes the hi voltage. so it could be the low voltage P.S. failure and i would bet on it . what can you do about it nothing not unless you have experience in this field. get to see how much is to repair it and them weight the value if it is worth fixing it.
