Hello. I'm Carl John Q. Balgos. I'm having trouble with my triggering circuit using opto isolator to trigger triac. i've used an LDR and Led covered in a dark tube as an opto isolator. but the problem is that the triac will always activate even if the opto i used is not activated. whats wrong with the circuit? is LDR not applicable for AC signals?

Ano ang sabimo no i am not flip just know a few words.a triac will conduct if it exceed the anode to cathode voltage make sure that is not happening . short the gate and verify that first and you did not supply a schetch so i cannot tell you more.

TRIACS SCRS conducts if you exceed the anode to cathode voltage no matter where the gate is sitting at. and without a proper schematics my brain cannot determine what the hell you are doing wrong.
