hello,

my locksmith installed a keybox on the exterior wall of my house a while back to open and close my garage door using a key. inside the box he used 2 snap-acting switches to open and close the door. this device was removed over a year ago during a remodeling project and now i want to re-install it. rather than incure the expense of the locksmith coming back out i thought i might try to do it myself. however, i am not too familiar with how to wire the terminals.

here is a link to what these switches look like:

http://www.newark.com/NewarkWebCommerce/newark/en_US/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp;?SKU=07F036&CMP=AFC-TL10000001

any advise on how to wire this device or ones simialr to it would be helpful. any links to resources of how to sites would be great.

take care.

For a carage door to open all you realy need is a one switch closure to the transmitter. If there are two switches then there is something that i cannot guess. On my carage there is a microswitch just like that whereby a pen inserted on the side will opent the door. You can get fancy and have code boxes and all but it needs a closure to activate.
