I have a circuit with a piezo buzzer. I bough one but when I apply a voltage to it it sounds!! Its correct?? Or I bought the incorrect one? I think a piezzo buzzer is like a speaker, so applying a voltage will not sound at all.

it is like a speaker. and putting dc on a speaker is a bad idea and so is the piezo. Be carefull.

But...its sounds!! in fact, has a + on a side. I think its like a small ocillator or something, and doesn't act like a speaker.

Piezo is realy more physics then electronics so i am not up to speed on that. but i know it behave like a capacitor and voltage makes contract expand by particle aligment. The way i see it too much voltage could saturate it and less makes it cut off. so the idea it to provide the right voltage so it can operate in a linear mode.
