Hi, I'm new here

Quick question. I know this will sound ignorant, but just bear with me.

I have here an LC945Q NPN transistor.

I have a DMM with PNP/NPN testing capability.

There are 4 ports labeled E, B, C, E. It's obvious these ports are for the emitter, base, collector, and emitter. My question is, which pins, flat side UP, pins facing AWAY from me, are emitter, base, and collector. I want to test this to see if it's any good or not.

I've looked online and my TTL cookbook. I can't find anything about it.

Any help appreciated.

rule no:1 transistors are actualy 2 diodes get the ohmeter and check one lead then the other pay attention of ohms. for an npn b to c is low ohms b to e low ohms allways. draw to diodes back to back the center is the base does that help?
