Hi everyone I'm new to the board & some what to electronics.
I need your advice.
I bought some microchips today. I'm just wondering if the seller gave the right ones????
The chip I had listed was called:
741C op amp But the chip he gave me was called MC1741CP1
Is this the same chip?

I had another chip listed it was called:
709C But the chip he gave me was MC1709C
Is this the same?

I dont know if I should take it back to the electronic surplus store or not.
I'm really confuse. Shocked

Yes internaly the chip performs as the datasheet sugest. for that particular chip. The other letters give you additional info.LIKE temp range date of manuf. plastic or ceramic packaging and manuf. and so forth.Unless i have a specific application I don't bother with that extra info. You should know learn about but i wouln'd memorize them.

Hi Neon! Razz

So I presume the first "1" as in MC1741CP1 (or the "1" in MC1709C )
isnt really relevent then. (Just double checking that I understand you correctly.)

Thanks for explaining the letter part. That makes sense. Wink
