Publish what you find. I have the ST2.
Temperature is easy. It is the emissivity standard
what are hard?? Probably something like candle soot
on an aluminum substrate.

Thanks for the response Mike. The model I have (ST30) reads 30 deg. F higher
than actual. There is no internal adjustments...pots, etc. There is a 12 pad
connector (A1 to A12) adjacent to the battery compartment...could be
computor interface. Regards, Don

So, at 0 it reads 30
AND at 500 it reasd 530?
Emissivity error would be a ratio error, not constant...I think.

Sorry I did'nt mention this info!!
Reads ok at 80 deg.F and 30 deg.F high at 350deg.F
