I have a bigscreen tv which the cord was cut in half I tried splicing together but now I have no pic or sound I only have the green power on button working , what may be wrong anyone please help

BY cutting the cord nothing should have caused the TV to mulfunvtion. However i have doubts about your splicing capabilities are you sure there is 120vac into your tv. Have you actualy measured.

the only thing i did was recut the cord and twisted the wires together positve to positive and nuetral to neutral

Not to bang on you but there is no positive or negative. Those wires carry AC alternating current. this is tricky for you but try to light a bulb right where the wires end up. be carefull. Have you open up the tv and check the fuses glass tubular compinents. And how did you cut the wire to beigin with maybe you tore them up by dragging it. if that is the case the damage can be in your tv set. The tv set have voltage hi enough to kill you even if disconnected for a while i sugest you contact a profesional repairman and talk to him.
