Zenith SY3538RK Color TV - Need Service Manual - Won't stay |
|
|
I'm looking for a service manual for a Zenith SY3538RK color TV.
This is a large console model, about 5 years old, with a 35 (or36)
inch direct-view CRT.
It comes on when it wants to, but usually just clicks on-then-off.
When it does come on, the horizontal size is too small (and sometimes
unstable), then it may either shut itself off, or "warm up", and
keep going just fine until it gets turned off again and cools down.
Thanks for any info you might have!

These sets were normally serviced by replacing the individual circuit
modules. Probably still available from Zenith or Via PTS Electronics. Actual
Service manual probably from Sams Photofact or on Micti Fische from Zenith.
Best to check th e tube quality before dumping too much time or funds into
it.

Probably a bad capacitor in the power supply. Also, check the board for poor
connections and resolder as necessary.
