Hi folks,
I have a Galaxy 8 panel and keypad, I've ordered some Optex DX40 PIR's
(thanks Andrew) and I'd like to ask if anyone could give me a hand
programming it.
It's just a small house with a door contact switch on the front door which
leads into a living room with one PIR which then leads to a dining
room/kitchen with another PIR. There will be one additional PIR in the
upstairs area, probably on the landing.
I know the Galaxy is more of a professional panel but I have it sitting in
the garage and it seems a shame not to use it. I have it set up on a test
bed at the moment with resistors across all PIRs and I can access the panel
ok. I know it's complex and can have more than one user level but if
someone could outline a basic setup I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

Dave

All on - no part sets...

Zone wiring has a 1K resistor across the alarm
contact or relay, and a 1K resistor end of line.

1K normal - 2K alarm.

The programming should be straight forward.
Navigate the programming options with the
A and B keys (arrow keys) and don't forget
to enter your selections. The hash key is also
used for toggling on/off options and the star
key is sometimes used for deleting.

Program these as "Intruder" unless they are on the
exit route in which case, program as "Exit"

Either link unused zones out with 1K ohm resistors
or program them out "Spare"

Program your timers.

Entry time / Exit time (exit time reduced to zero when final
door is opened and closed again)

Bell time (normally 20 mins unless you feel you'd
like to reduce it)

Bell delay (0 seconds)

Thanks Peter, that's exactly what I needed. I have the control panel
connected on a test bed with the keypad and 1K resistors across all zones so
I can play with the settings before installing it.

Cheers
