My father asked me if I could repair his old record player for him, so
of course I took up the challenge. I found two transistors shorted
out. There is no part reference on the board (Q1 etc.) just numbers
10,11,12 for the first transistor. And 13,14,15 for the second
transistor.

The part it self says this on it:

M044 (M looks like the motorola M)
26932
Package looks like a TO-220.

Google turned up nothing informative. Is there a replacemnet that can
be used instead of the M044?

Thanks alot for any help!!!!!!!!!!!

044 is a batch number, the device is a 26932.

Unfortunately, there is probably no way to find out its equivalent;
Motorola were notorious at one time for supplying OEMs with
semiconductors produced to order and numbered with various in-house
part numbers that meant nothing and were untraceable (except to the
OEM's spares department).

You will have to work out the function of the device and the
conditions it's working under and choose a suitable replacement.

My old NTE paperback catalog shows several numbers such as
"27065(H.KARDON)" but not your particular number. So try their website
www.nteinc.com for a current online catalog and you might find it.
