Replacement speaker for telephone. |
|
|
After the handset was dropped phone no longer works.
After a bit of dismanteling I find it is the earpiece speaker that it broken
(phone works fine - but cant hear a thing!)
The speaker is about 26.5mm across, and 5mm thick. It is marked TS-28D2
150ohm. Size isnt critical.
Anyone know where I can source a replacement?

Darren, it would be helpful if you could post the brand and model of
the telephone. Usually, it is best to go to the manufacturer if
repairs are necessary since specialised items (items which are not in
general usage) are not usually stocked by the normal electronics parts
suppliers. |

Make is Audioline - Not sure of the model - will check and post.
The part requires however is a small speaker (headphone sized?) size isnt
that critical as long as the charaterisic are similar, so I would have hoped
that a generic part could be found.

I'd cannibalise an old phone.

Not so easy...
Here is just one manufacturer of such speakers
http://www.algoodwell.com/product.html
This page
http://www.algoodwell.com/cgi-bin/ngen_plist.pl?CAT_NAME=Dynamic%20Receiver%
lists the dynamic receiers they make which can be used in such items
as phones. The models with 150 in them are 150 ohm units.
Other manufacturers abound in Asia so it just depends on which
manufacturer Audioline used for that particular model phone. |

Sorry, that link doesn't bring up the whole page. Just go to the first
link and select Al Brand Dynamic Receiver.

That's probably your answer. Go to a surplus or thrift store and pick
up any old telephone handset or the whole telephone, and use the
earpiece from it.
If you can't find one, I have lots of Hosiden DR-=904 and Primo DH-70
earpieces, if you're willing to pay shipping. |
