I'm looking for a simple design for a transmitter and receiver to turn on and off the driveway entrance light at the street. Rather than run a wire underground 200 feet from the house to the 120volt light at the entrance to my moms driveway, it would be alot easier to use a simple on/off hand held remote. The 120v power is there already, and I've suggested a light sensor, but she wants to be able to turn it off and on from the house.

Thanks,
David

search for X10. It is a way of sending signals over the power line. From the house I turn lights on/off at the barn and the light pole.
I use this to transmitt the signal. http://www.smarthome.com/4000.html
On the receive end I use. http://www.smarthome.com/2002.html

I like to collect sites like that! I have to admit I'm a 'tinkerer'.

Thanks,
