The TV was just refurbished before I bought it 3 months ago. After being on about 30 min. there is a pop in the audio and the screen goes black then immediately turns back on and is fine. The longer it is on the more frequently it happens. I called the service center I bought it from, and they said it needs the light box replaced for $150. Any suggestions?

This morning it was on for 10 min. then shut off. Now when you turn it on the power button stays lit for less than a second and goes out, the tv won't turn on at all.

Most of this kind of problem can be associated with power supply bad leaky caps for 3 months is kind of short time for that. the pop it can be a hi voltage breakdown. if i hear it i would know for sure but now is here say.. TV can be dangerous and can and did kill. If you are not familiar with it. even a disconnected TV can give you a shock of hi voltage by touvhing the tube.I personaly would look at it see if it is as simple as the power supply if not guess what trash it and buy another it is as simple as that. $150 makes feasable decision.

It ended up being the high voltage splitter. $50, done.
