I'm new here and looking for some help. I have an electric bathroom exhaust vent/heater & the heater coils/motor stopped working. I used a multi meter to check the thermal fuse and sure enough it was faulty. I then used a jumper across the leads to verify and everything worked fine. I don't want to permanently eliminate the fuse due to fire hazard but I also don't want to pay the $22 for a complete heater element from the manufacturer. Just my luck that the heater is 1 month beyond warranty. Using a magnifying glass I was able to get the following info off the fuse: Micro, SQABHX, G4A01. I'm not sure if these are the complete numbers since the rest is not visible. The heater is rated at 120V and 1500W. Does anyone know how to calculate the correct value of a replacement fuse? I e-mailed the manufacturer and their auto response said it could take up to two weeks for a reply and that's no guarantee that they'll have an answer for me. Thanks for any help.

The fuse you are looking for is rated at 10Amps at 250 Volts. I found it by looking fo it at FindChips.com and should cost about a buck before the shipping costs. Go to the website and type in g4a01 and they wil find it and tell you where you may buy it.
good luck

Thanks so much but I got lucky. I e-mailed the manufacturer and they sent me a new heater element for free. I also had filed a claim with my credit card company for their extended warranty and they credited me for the entire cost of the fan/heater unit. Made my day.

Thanks again for your effort!!!
