I'm working with a hydraulic system and am using a positioning selector to determine the vertical location. The selector has magnetic sensors: zone, position, up level and down level. My problem is.. when I load the equipment I get a bouncing up and down effect. The circuit board and software that has come with the equipment reads this bouncing as an error. When it bounces up and down both the up level and the down level register (basically telling the software that the equipment is going up and down at the same time) Is there something out there that can take the input from the selector's up and down signals (24vdc) and trick it. Say for example... the signal has to be held for approximately 1/2 a second or so before it sends a signal to the software?

You need hysterisis in your circuits to eliminate bounces there must be a level detector that tell you where you are when you reach a point feedback will make that point higher or lower a certain amount to get rid of the overshoot if any. let say the point is 1" = 5v when you reach that point feedback will make that 5 volts look 5.5v therefore the point is solid going the other way it will be the same .5v hysterisis. this is an example. it would help if you can let us know what the schematic look like.

I don't have a schematic of the circuitry. I do have the software... it was writen in C but compiled and the file I have is a .hex file. If I could convert the hex back to C maybe I could correct the problem. I was thinking there might be some added circuitry that could be made to go along with the product I have.

i am afraid that you have a problem that i cannot solve usualy the hysterisis is biult into the software and without a source code you will need an expert on C. I could solve it with a scope and looking at it but not otherwise sorry Rolling Eyes
