I have this strange phenomenon. I have a 10k pull down resistor. One end to ground, the other to one of the data lines that gets into an ASIC (application specific IC). At first I was measuring 5k and thought that this resistor is bad (there is no parallel path, and I assume there isn't any short on my board). Later, after a few days, I remeasured this resistor *at the same point - my board still untouched) but now I get 10k. Is there an explainable mechanism in the resistor that could cause this? Or any experience related to this strange phenomenon? Shocked

it does have a path otherwise why put it there. And depends on how you measure it polarity wise and when. Put a short across it before you measure it. checking resistors connected i a circuit is a bad idea disconnect one side first.
