Just starting out in this great electronic world!!!

OK I am building an teathered ROV I am using the MD22 full h-bridge controller.

I have ceramic caps on each motor. In the ROV I also have a camera.

I GET DIAGONAL LINES on the monitor every time I move the motors.


I know it is a noise problem, and I think it is from the board, I thiunk it is tracelling thru the gnd/ neutral but i am not sure.

Would a LC circuit on the motor wires help with this???

Your motor is generating RF To begin with shield the wires going to the camera. The shield should be tied to gnd at one end only. FAST TEST WRAP ALUMINUM FOILS ON THE CAMERA WIRES AND SEE.

I have built similar rov's without the use of the MD22 (H-Bridge)and had unshielded wires in with the motor wires, no problems with the video.

The problems occured when I switched to using the MD22.

I have snubber caps across the motors.

I think I am picking up noise thru the common ground on the power supplies.

Any othe thoughts????

Then you have created a ground loop. Now what the hell that means. your power for the motor has become a source of signal. Pay attention of how you have managed to gnd your source and your power. On your signal source there should be no power flow either comming or going separate one from the other and then tie them together at one point. If you ever tied a power supply 5meter away and it draws 10 amps you will find out fast that you cannot expect to find the same voltage as the source becouse of IR drops. not unless you bring sense wire from the controller to the load. that is a ground loop eliminator. hope ypu understand that.
