I am working on a project of firing circuits. These circuits are to be used in controlling the conduction sequence of SCR in full bridge converter(rectifier). The input I can use is the voltage I get from the outlet 220-V.I have built the circuit to give me a 12-V DC output, but I need to chop this DC voltage to pulses so that I can supply it to the SCRs. The problem is that the pulses should be synchronized with the AC source, from the outlet. Besides there should a means to control the firing angle of the pulses, in other words their positions from the zero crossing of the AC source.

just an idea why not use the primary AC and delay the angle for firing SCR gates

The scrs should be supplied with pulses in order to trigger them. The sine wave has a zero crossing which can commutate the scr. Moroever, the angle control becomes easier with pulses.

I sure hope AC has a zero voltage crossing otherwise it will never shut off. And frike your pulses got to be sychronized with AC comin in right you forget to mention that.
