Firing Circuits or Triggering Circuits |
|
|
I am working on a project of firing circuits. These circuits are to be used in controlling the conduction sequence of SCR in full bridge converter(rectifier). The input I can use is the voltage I get from the outlet 220-V.I have built the circuit to give me a 12-V DC output, but I need to chop this DC voltage to pulses so that I can supply it to the SCRs. The problem is that the pulses should be synchronized with the AC source, from the outlet. Besides there should a means to control the firing angle of the pulses, in other words their positions from the zero crossing of the AC source.

| just an idea why not use the primary AC and delay the angle for firing SCR gates |

The scrs should be supplied with pulses in order to trigger them. The sine wave has a zero crossing which can commutate the scr. Moroever, the angle control becomes easier with pulses.

| I sure hope AC has a zero voltage crossing otherwise it will never shut off. And frike your pulses got to be sychronized with AC comin in right you forget to mention that. |
