Hi all, I'm not really familiar with electronics forums, so please feel free to redirect me to another part of the website if my query is in the wrong place.

I have a Teac magnetic reel deck, that was damaged by being plugged into 240v when the power supply was set to 110v. The thing powers up, lights come on, when pressing play either way, something clicks, but the motors just kind of jerk without actually rotating. The pause button sometimes powers its light on, whereas the stop and FF/REV buttons don't do anything.
The motors turn freely by hand.

The transformer and ONLY fuse in the thing are fine.

Could anybody tell me please what is likely to burn out first when this situation occurs? As far as I can tell the entire thing is made up of easily obtainable and replaceable electronic components, except perhaps the motors but I don't think it's likely that they managed to burn out this quickly (don't exactly understand how the motor would 'burn out' anyway).

Cheers, everyone, really looking to get this thing sorted!

well you are lucky that you plug it in 240 v into 115 v the otherway around fuses should blow. i will guess your power supply is damaged but i don't know how by undervoltage. without a schematic it is hard for me to guess. but let me tell you most of these kind of ps. have a soft start which means it will work only for a while until the ps. gets going that could be bad. if the ps. doesn't start that is the first thing that blows. ge a voltmeter and check the output of the power supply see if the power is there and if it is clean no ripple. then ask for help again.

Maybe I didn't make it quite clear.

It was set to 110v, and I plugged it into 240v, so OVERPOWERING it. And the fuse didn't blow, and the power supply is still alive. I'm thinking maybe the motor controller might have blown.
