My TV just went blank after working fine off and on today. I can't get it to power on at all, either with the power button or the remote. I have tested other items like a DVD player on the same wall plug, so I know the wall plug is not the issue. What would cause it simply to stop working altogether, or am I missing something obvious? It was made in 1999, and as far as I know this has not happened to this set before?

With bowl games looming this weekend, the timing really stinks.

well i knew that is not the ac. looks like the main power supply went for a vacation. to make sure you must remove the cover and inspect for obvious damage. now there is hi voltage and you can get a very good buzz even if it is shut off. the picture tube can hurt you so unless you are sure of what you are doing leave it alone scrap it, and buy another.
