Just saw a TV teaser for the news show - something about "What would you
do if suddenly your cell phone didn't work and all your autodial numbers
were erased? Cell phone viruses - find out tonight at 11"

What, are cell phones running windows these days? ;-)

Thanks,
Rich

Bluetooth...

If you don't drop by there periodically, visit http://slashdot.org/
(or remember that google is your friend...)

The main target is the Symbian OS which is used on many Nokia phones.

Another target is newer Lexus models with Bluetooth.

The Bluetooth implementations on a lot of these devices offer exciting
new opportunities... for folks you'd most likely not like accessing
your phone...

No, but there is a microprocessor inside to handle all of the various
functions (which increase as useless features are added).

Don't need to - simply any ( other ) dumb O/S with no protection.

Yes - it's for real.

Not me. I've a Motorola flip phone that is so old you can't even
program autodial by way of a port.

Of course they are:

Now, what we can expect to get on Windows Mobile?
Spyware that records all calls/text messages sent/received?

Not me also. I still rely on my old Nokia 5120 cell phone (it
makes/receives calls and sends SMS messages), never has given me any
trouble ~~ while the rather advanced cell phone my father used to have
(with stuff he didn't even use) had given him trouble (such as, the
battery only lasts 2 or 3 days).

He gave up on it -- I feared that a virus could get installed via a Java
game (? - the phone supported them).
