3 week old Samsung 32" TX-P3275H with problems!!! |
|
|
Hi,
We owned this tv for 3 weeks before we started having problems. We
went to turn on the tv and received nothing. The standby light would
just blink. We unplugged it, checked the power at the outlet nothing
helped. We had it in for service through Samsung and unfortunately we
were sent to a company that is totally incompetent. After having the tv
30 days and continuois calls to samsung the tv was returned with the
same problems. The only way we can turn on the tv is to completely
unplug it for a few days to a week then we can use the tv for a day or
two before the same problems start. We are still trying to get
repairmen out to look but it's not looking good. We live in Houston
(the 4th largest city in US) and we can't get a samsung authorized
service center to respond and do the warranty work!!! Does anyone have
an idea of what could be wrong and possible $ to get it fixed
ourselves. Thanks in advance...We're are getting disgusted with the
situation and may dump the whole thing soon !

Dang, why don't you just return it? Even if this is not possible, any
retailer worth his salt should be ready to exchange it for you.
Failing that, your local BBB or consumers' rights group will help. Last
resort, call a lawyer and have him write Samsung's local office a letter,
and copy the retailer.

I wish we could return it...but We ordered it through a promotion at my
husbands job. It was from a catalog of awards that you could purchase
using points you earned so there is no retailer to work with. I might
have to look into a lawyer because i'm getting nowhere with samsung.
Thanks!

You should get directly in touch with Samsung, and present your problem.
It most likely has a power supply fault. You can also keep calling the
service rep to keep coming down, or bring them the set, and leave it
there for them to look after it for you.
I personally, if doing a major TV purchase, I would stay with Sony,
Panasonic, or Hitachi, or something in that level of set.

Well, whoever arranged the promotion at your husband's job might be able to
contact the promo company and make them get the lead out. At the very
least, your husband's company should be made aware that you haven't been
well-served by them. The threat of no future use may be enough. |

Have your servicer go to the Samsung Web Site and initiate a "SAYS" report.
Get the manufacturer as involved as you possibly can. Samsung will stand
behind their products, even tho many times they are deficient in design and
serviceability.

Just because you didn't pay for it doesn't mean you're out of luck.
We have the same type of promotion plan where I work. I know that our HR
department would be more than happy to mediate this type of problem. In
fact, we had one employee receive a $1000 grandfather clock that was badly
damaged in shipping. The promotion company arranged pickup of the damaged
one and shipped a replacement no questions asked.
