Fire detectors connection to a panel |

Standard wired system + dialler and completely separate standalone fire
detectors.
I was wondering if one could replace existing fire detectors with wire free
detectors of some kind and somehow interface them to the panel's remaining
zone. In other words is there some wire free to wire interface that could be
connected to the panel and communicate to new detectors scattered around the
house? I would not like to use wired detectors as it would either look
untidy if surface wiring was used or would result in to much of upheaval to
make it all look neat.
