I've ended up with a Panasonic DVD-L10D portable DVD that was used by
an airline. (No, I didn't swipe it, it was obtained through a local
pawn shop.) It says on a label the player has been modified and will
not accept commercial discs. The player has a Region Symbol "8" on
it, so they've set the firmware to only work with region "8" (special
case) discs.
I've been searching the net for an updated firmware for region 1 (US)
and have turned up empty. Apparently region hack chips are available
for the unit, but the prices are exorbitant and I really don't care
for playing other region's discs anyway.
Does anyone know if the firmware on this player is flashable, and if
so, where I could find/download the proper region 1 firmware?
