My four year old microwave began humming loudly and popping the
breaker. Talking to "qualified" techs and some testing on my own, I
replaced the magnetron, stir plate, and diode (under warranty from
GE!). When I tried it, the loud humming was still there and the
breaker popped. Could it be the HV transformer instead? I have
model number JVM1640BB002, and the transformer is part #WB27X10254.

If it's not that - any other ideas??

Just drive around on garbage day, and pick a new one for free...
