How to get Pico2000 software version number? |
|
|
Hi all,
I have a Pico2000 software version (1.8.0) working on a Windows XP PC with a
card with 4 cameras. Now I want to add a second card for 4 additional
cameras but the software doesn't recognizes the additional card. "Camera
Setting Utility" shows only 4 enabled cameras. The Pico2000 user manual says
that the total amount of cameras supported by the software depends on the
version of the program. This program versiuon should be one of 104, 208,
416. But I don't know how to get the program version. The "About Digital
Surveilance Recorder" dialog says:
Version: 1.8.0
Camera System: NTSC
Total Camera Input: 4 Video Input
....but nothing about the software version.
Does the "Total Camera Input" means that it is the maximum number of cameras
supported by the software?, or may be my second card is defective and the
software only sees the first card?
How can I get the software version of the Pico2000?
Thanks in advance
Faustino

Guessing here, but it might only drive a single card.
Cards are available with up to 16 camera inputs.

Just we are facing the decision on how to expand our system. We need to be
sure about the capabilities of the existing software before buying anything
more.
Thanks for your replay

Have you actually installed a 2nd card ? |
If so you might be able to activate cameras 5,6,7 & 8 through 'utility'.
IIRC, when the software was installed originally there was an option
where the default was 104 (ie. 1 card, 04 cameras). It may be neccessary
to uninstall the software & reinstall. Then you could possibly choose
option 208, 2 cards, 8 cameras.
I'll have a play with it tomorrow.
I'm only guessing as well, but Pico 2000 is quite inscrutable.

You are right! I was not the one who installed the software, so I was not |
aware of the setup options. I uninstalled and reinstalled again, selected
the choice 208, and now the Pico2000 recognizes both cards.
Thanks a lot

Hello Faustino, I'm happy that it worked. |
As a matter of interest I have a couple of questions for you:
when you uninstalled the software did it wreck your graphics card settings?
Are you able to have Pico2000 running reliably? I cannot get it to work for
more than a few hours, but this may be a problem with another program
running at the same time.
Regards
Nick. |

Just a reminder of a great forum in NZ about these cards:-

No, I had no problem with the graphic card settings

I have been running Pico2000 software on Windows XP SP2 PC for many months |
24x7 without any problems. I have added Web access support, so IIS is
running on the same PC. The PC is a standard clone, graphic card is on the
board. I don't remember I had to restart the PC for other reason than
occasional windows update...
Best regards
