Re: Gardtec 580 Display Issues |

I have seen something similar on one of those rkp's, it was a flicker in one
or two of the segments of the display. It didnt cause any problems with the
system. I assumed that it was just a display fault. ( but it wasnt in the
segments used in "Un") The customer was happy to leave it as it was rather
that buy a new rkp, It was still working ok 4 years later when control unit
was replaced due to upgrade requirements. But of course if the fault hinders
normal customer use then that is a different matter.
Do you have a spare rkp (that you know is ok) to try.

similar problem. The Gardtec 580's 2 digit 7 segment display was not
displaying the usual "Un" when unset. The display was showing random
segments less illuminated than the usual "Un". If you squint you get a
feel that the display is showing "Pc" amongst other flashing segments.
"Pc" means that the mains is absent but is present. when
Both these systems were take-overs and the batteries were both u/s.
(The usual never had it serviced brigade!) The heat-sink bar behind
the PCB were also hotter than normal. The dc was fine following
battery replacement. Let system cool down - display still unstable.
The display is fine in engineer mode / in user menu and the 3 bars
when setting. I cannot find anything wrong with the alarm other than
the display, as they works perfectly.
Due to the spent battery has the microprocessor cooked? I get the
feeling there is a problem with the way the panel monitors the ac. Can
my customers trust their systems or should they be replaced? ( I have
a signed disclaimer ) Has anyone had a similar experience?
