Is there an equivalent chip for the display driver in a Fluke 8024b?
Chip is labelled
Intersil
429100
8337

I can't find any info on this. Any help appreciated

Could it be the house number for a standard ICL7106, or maybe an
ICL7136 (low power version of ICL7106)?

BTW, the "8337" is probably a YYWW date code, ie week 37 of 1983. It
may help to know which chips Intersil was producing in that year.

8337 will be week 37 in 1983. The 429100 is the custom chip
reference number. Try Fluke for replacement.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I tried the 7016 with bad
results. However, as a last resort, I soaked the meter in very
strong alcohol for half an hour, and now it zeroes perfectly.

Soaking in strong alcohol does wonders for all sorts of problems. (hic.)
