I would like to use a dynamic mic with my computer which
normally takes an electret microphone. How would i go about
making a modification to achieve the above?

Electret mics need a supply voltage, which your dynamic mic

doesn't want to see. The supply voltage is usually on the
"ring" part of a stereo connector used for the (mono) mic.
So if you just wire up your connector using only the tip
and sleeve, you should be OK.
