Hi

Can anyone help me source a low cost <$200 capacitance meter that works over
a number of freq. A kit would be great.
Any help would be welcome.

PS The small Peak units are no good for my application.

PS The small Peak units are no good for my application.

Don't know what the 'Peak' unit is, but I have a AADE (Almost All Digital
Electronics) L./C meter II which spans that range. It was a kit for $100 or
so. I seem to read from your message you want to read at selected
frequencies, if so then this unit is not suited. It has a 750 kHz or so
osciilator which frequency is changed by the unknown C or L. A PIC is used to
measure the frequency and compute the unknown value. Self-calibrating,
resolution 0.01 pF and 1 nH. I like it very much.

Help on a board like this runs from adolescents to full Electrical
Engineers or scientist. It would therefore probably be helpful to know
what your applications actually is to warrant a worthy recommendation.

I am interested at looking at the impedance and capacitance of PCBs with the
addition of contamination over various frequcies.
