Any suggestions for common faults.
Sampling probe diodes seem OK but bias volts seem asymmetric all lights
work but no sign of synchronisation.

Without you giving us even so much as a hint as to what
make/model/series/paint color, etc this thing is...My guess as to a good
place to start, is the bias voltage symmetrisizer circuit. If that checks
out OK, then you might look at the voltage vector synchronizer circuits.
both are critical to operation. {;>)
