Hi all, I am looking to design a remote controled rheostat (as in no wires conecting one piece to the other). The distance would be at max aprox 150 feet or less. Can someone point me in the right direction on info that would help me. I am at best a novice in this field but willing to learn whatever i need to to do this project. (Wanting to win a bet Smile ). Thanks!

It would be variable, as in if i rotate the handheld device 20 degrees, the rheostat at distance will do the same. Any ideas??

yeah i got some ideas RF transmitters 150" is no biigy the problem i see it is line of sight. is it there for you to use? well anyhow go to elctronics-circuit -diagrams.com they have some cheap transmitters or buy it outright. you will need some coding at the reciever/sender to do you want. that not biggy. a garage opener works on the same primcipal except is- on-off
