Help my guitar amp is humming! It's just a solid state amp. Music still comes through. Hums regardless of wether i plug a guitar in or not. My house wiring is fine, it sounds the same no matter where i plug in, and power conditioner does not help. I don't think anything is loose. Could this be a cold solder joint or are my AC filter capacitors failing?

hum is probably 60 hz ripple on your power bus. inspection would help like a big tubular cap. bulging or even better check the temp with finger WARNING you might loose the finger.no kidding. best thing to prove it find a substitute for the power source and see if the hum disapear. it is not a cold solder joint for sure that does not cause this kind of problems.
