the unit powers up and has picture and sound but hte picture has lines and blocks in it on all inputs I was guessing it was inthe tuner but wasnt sure also the channels wont change by the up and down button only manually on a 62" rca rear projection tv model number p61937

what you are describing is a bad signal input squares and lines

yeah it does it on all inputs so I figured it had to be the tuner does anybody know how much this would cost to fix at a shop

you need to check all input including rca, svideo. If you still problem on all input then it isnt the tuner.

you have a bad power output that is trying to tell you help is not the tuner if it is the tuner you will get noisy pictures and other garbage but lines means bad power possibly hi ripple check that out
