Hi
Ive just joined the forum.
I have a Farnell (levell) TM-2 millivoltmeter that i dont have service data or manual for.
Can anyone tell me what the function of the 2 knobs and toggle switch are on the front panel. One does seems to be a zero adjustment when your on DC measurement, but im not sure of the function of the knob and switch labeled up as 'SC'
This seems to effect the zero adjustment as well to some degree...
Also does anyone have service data as it could do with a bit of a sort out.
Thanks
Gonz

i am not familiar with your DVM but most if it an analog meter will have a full scale adjust open on ohms and a short adjustment for it the switch sc probably means SHORT CIRCUIT. This is neccessary to compensate for changes in internal battery voltage due to age.

Hi
Ive sorted it now, thanks.
Its not a DVM its an older analogue AC/DC millivolt meter, it doesent actually measure resistance.
The switch indeed is a short circuit, to null any offsets that might be present on the input, then you can zero it up.
I got hold of the service data / schematics so all mysteries have gone Surprised)
Cheers
Gonz
