Hi All..

First post on this forum.

I have a cable meter that is charged using a 14 volt 750 ohm charger.

This charger that I use is now defective...I tore the wires out of it when I tripped on it. Can't take it apart unless I destroy the entire case.

Now...I have another power adapter that is 12 volts, 750 ohms. The tip fits into my cable meter perfectly.

My question is...will the 2 volt differance HARM the rechargable battery???

you don't have 750 ohm what you have is probably 750ma. that is how most transformers are rated. VOLTS-AMPERE. NOW TO YOUR QUESTION. No it will not harm your device but at the same time it will never fully charge you battery. what will harm your device is putting 12 vAC as opposed to 12 vDC. No matter what ma rating there is. plugging in an unknown charger without finding that is is a no no and to add the problem the voltage supplied by the transformer could be DC with the wrong polarity. if you don't know what i am saying to you them maybe buying a new charger is best for you.
