Faulty Power Supply |

Hello;
I am virtually illiterate in electronics. I have a 51" Sony projection TV. When the TV warms up after an hour or so, it turns itself off. You an then hear something rapidly clicking from one of the circuit boards. The only way to get it to work again is to unplug it for a few seconds, then it will come back on. It may work again for another hour or maybe only 10 minutes. It seems to me that it should be an easy fix, but I don't know where to start.

| this is just plausable reason since can be many reasons for this problem. 1 first i think it can be a leaky capacitor that leakes get warm and leaks more. that is located on the power supply of the unit. you got to take it apart and look for bulgy, disform capacitor it has to be a big mother not a tiny cap, also if you can feel it when is hot and find the hottest item. get a vacuum cleaner and blow some direct air on it and see if it can come back now you will know for sure which to change. good luck |
