My Sony KV27FS12 has recently started emitting a high pitched "whine" after the set has been on for a while. If the TV is turned off for a while, the whine disappears for a short time when the set is turned back on then reappears. The speakers are muted all the time since it goes through a Sony receiver. Initially, shaking the power cord made the whine stop, however, that insanely easy resolution no longer works. Everything else works fine on the TV. Help!

your problem is your power supply shaking the cord is like making disconnecting power which you probaly did. something is getting hot and cold makes feel better. check your output caps off the power supply.
