Hi

I'd like to ask you expertise on the subject of scanning CRTS: what
exactly are the difficulties with using very wide scan angles? I seem
to have some understanding of this one, but need to get rather more
precise about it.

The faceplate is flat, so the center is nearer to the gun than the
edges so the beam goes out of focus as you move away from the center.
The other problem is non lineararity a little basic trig will show you
that.
