I think you should go to Europe, not the US and certainly not California.
Don't believe the advertizing hype. The weather here in the San Fransisco
bay area is really awful.

If you can get asylum get it. You have to show a reasonable fear that you
are specifically threatened and that the government of the country you are
from isn't liked by the one looking at you application.

Not my thing at all. Like any well-trained professional, with what
ought to be a saleable skill, I'd make myself scarce at the first sign
of lawless thuggery. Quite a few Germans had the good sense to do that
in the early 1930's. Do you have any plans to emigrate? Or are you
waitng until the Bush clan declare themselves to be the presidental
family? That might be leaving it too late.

I am considering emigration though it seems a tiresome and risky
process. I'd need a work visa, support money till I get employment .
How much reserve cash is necessary? Which is the best place to
emigrate to? Europe or US? I have connections in Europe (UK, Denmark
and Italy) but no serious links in the US apart from a couple of
girls. I hear though that the employment situation in Europe is grim.
What cities in US/Europe? Should I seek political asylum? Still
digging for the best answers to these questions.

Cuban Communism works better than most, and the Cubans seem to be able
to find lots of well-educated and healthy volunteers to help their
ideological pals
Drug-pushing hedonism does seem to make more money, but falls short on
the armed non-thugs - the high cash-flow seems to bring out the thug in
every gun-carrier.
Religious fanaticism has had its advocates for a very long time, but
the Taliban and Franco have given this approach a bad name - choosing
an irrational ideology does leave you vulnerable to religious maniacs,
and it can make a horrilbe mess of any education system you may want to
set up.
Anarcho-syndicalism did work pretty well in Catalonia - for about six
months in 1936 - but this was based on more than thirty years of
education and organisation, which you may not find practical.

Bill,
great. You forgot another one. Fight for the free
world, for democracy, free markets and the right
to get whoever installed as president to strip all
these rights from you again...

Re: fence protection |

We're just finishing fixing up a house in Scituate, getting ready to
sell it. It took four months to get the permits for the mandatory
septic tank replacement, which will cost about $50K. We had to repair
the nasty oil burner, and fill the tank (fuel oil costs more than
gasoline these days) and keep it going so the pipes wouldn't freeze.
But the trees changing color are nice, and the clam rolls, and the
Boston Cream pie. You could do a lot worse, but then you could do
better, too.

And it's hotter than hell here in Arizona... has been known to hit
124°F in the summer.
Try Massachusetts... it's a wonderful place ;-)

In Arizona, our worst traffic offenders are those bearing GORE bumper
stickers ;-) Kerry/Edwards didn't have many takers around here.

No, I really like it here. The worst lawlessness I've seen lately is
Volvos bearing Kerry/Edwards stickers running stop signs.

| No electronics or lasers or man made objects will ever solve this problem. if it is man made then man can defeat it. what nobody mention is dogs. the right kind of dogs will scare the hell out of me. doberman, pitbull, not really german shepard? what you need is a chow-chow about 50 pound. this dog will not bark like the others but wait until he can champ on you. i have one and sorry to say i end up giving it away he was to scary for the city living pluss my house insurance was increased dramatically for fear of liable suite. take care |
