I don't think there is any scope for negotiation - all the TFT data I've seen shows the interface as
a very simple, fixed format. Some of the interface chips are programmable to different formats but
this is so they can support whatever format a particular panel wants.
This is the best list I've found so far of TFT info - not full data but pinouts etc. on a wide range
of panels
