WE must understand the failures and why. caps are passive components but unlike resistors they contain electrolite which when heated brake the seal and bulge. this is due to leakage and contamination both. for a cap to survive a long time it must be kept at a constant temperature. TURN ON-OFF of equipment makes fail sooner why obviously they get hot when ON and when OFF they draw water inpurity from the enviroment and this cycle if repeaded will reduce caps longivitis. this is true for any supposedtly sealed components.

Bad caps not because of names but by manufacture runs and anbient. a cap worst enemy is moisture and heat and cold. turn it on and leave it on is the best aproach for longivity of operation. they are supposed to be sealed but rarely are. turn it off and they suck moisture and contaminants inside if hot
