subwoofer auto-shutoff |

I've got a subwoofer that came as part of a Kenwood home theater system
(HTB-503... or somtheing like that). Anyway, the subwoofer has an
auto-shutoff that is supposed to put the subwoofer in standby after 8
minutes of not receiving a signal. Well, mine is now shutting off after
about 30 seconds of no signal. This can get very annoying during
"quiet" movies. You hear a click when the subwoofer switches on or off,
so at times, you hear the clicking constantly over the movie - not to
mention no bass while it's swithing. So my question is, is this
something that sounds like it can be easily fixed? (I'm assuming it
would cost around $100 to take it to a repair shop - in which case, I
might as well get a new one.) But if it's something that I might be
able to fix on my own (like a switch going bad), I'd give it a shot.
I checked the repair FAQ but didn't notice anything in there on subs.

I would guess you have a dried out electrolytic capacitor in the shutoff
circuit, should be fairly simple to repair.
