It is the uPC chip, and the EPROM firmware that is different. Check to see
in that series, if the decoder chip is also a different series. This is not
an easy mod. The outside case may look the same, but there is more inside
to do the decoding.

Is it possible to modify the '469' model to the '569' model? The '569'
model can play mp3's. Both of these units look identical and I am
betting they are virtually the same on the inside. In, addition, where
can I get service manual/schematics for both of these?
